After military service in the Falklands and Northern Ireland, Tim Lynch studied Social Anthropology at university before working in the public sector, where he was closely involved in efforts to increase understanding and treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress. He began his freelancing career alongside this and now specialises in history and travel subjects - having written 10 books on the social and military history of the First and Second World Wars. In between writing and a day job with the National Probation Service, he works as a battlefield guide - leading school groups on the Western Front.
